Jean Caze is a Miami-based trumpet player with firm roots in Queens, NY. He has performed with the likes of Herbie Hancock, Aretha Franklin, Michael Bublé, and Roy Hargrove, to name a select few. His Haitian heritage shines bright through his recording “Amédé”, infusing traditional rhythms and melodies with his American jazz education and upbringing.
Jean and Jacob (The Core, Coconut Cake, Michael Bublé) have been playing music together for over 20 years. They will be playing original compositions of Jacob’s along with select instrumental jazz and modern covers reworked by Rodriguez.

His debut solo record, Évanescent, (much of which was honed while playing live at Little Jumbo) will be released in the late spring of 2023.
Alan Hall has been a professional drummer for over 45 years. He’s performed and/or recorded with international jazz artists Lee Konitz, Paul McCandless, Art Lande, Ed Simon, Geoffrey Keezer, Kenny Washington, Rebecca Parris, and Joyce Cooling as well as Cirque Du Soliel, Teatro Zinzanni, Wicked S.F. He has taught at many prestigious jazz institutions including the Berklee College of Music and California Jazz Conservatory. A prodigious composer, Alan also leads the Asheville Jazz Collective, a staple of Little Jumbo's Monday jazz series.

Zack is arguably Asheville's most versatile upright and electric bassist; the go-to guy for just about everyone which keeps him out of the house and averaging 275 gigs a year. Zack has performed extensively in the U.S., Canada, and Europe, including studio work in Asheville, Nashville and New York City.

Dr. Tim Fischer has participated as an active member in Los Angeles, St. Louis, and the coastal southeast performance communities as a solo artist, bandleader, sideman, and concert organizer. He performs both traditional and modern styles of jazz, as well as contemporary classical and popular music. He also serves as an arranger and composer in a variety of ensemble settings. As a bandleader, he has organized national and international tours, and performed in multiple festivals and concert series. He has recorded as a sideman and, as a leader, has released two albums of original compositions and arrangements.

Brian Felix is widely recognized as an accomplished and versatile jazz keyboardist. He was co-leader of OM Trio, an acclaimed San Francisco-based jazz-rock group that toured internationally between 1999-2004. Brian is active today as a performer and recording artist with his Brian Felix Organ Quartet and other prominent groups in Western North Carolina.
Felix has shared the stage with well-known musicians such as Joshua Redman, Charlie Hunter, Umphrey’s McGee, Sara Caswell, Billy Hart, Joe Russo, Kelly Sill, Dave Fiuczynski, and many others. Felix is a Professor of Music at UNC Asheville, where he teaches classes on jazz theory and improvisation, music business, jazz ensembles, keyboard skills, the Beatles, and the Grateful Dead.
The Brian Felix Organ Quartet plays Felix’s original book of jazz, funk, Latin, and blues-influenced tunes. The group takes cues from the classic organ combos of Jimmy Smith and Larry Young, as well as the modern groups of Larry Goldings, Sam Yahel, Joey DeFrancesco, and Medeski, Martin & Wood.

The unique sound of the Pavel Wlosok Quintet is an intoxicating blend of jazz traditions including swing, modal, and Latin jazz, along with influences of contemporary twentieth-century music, World music, and Czech folk music. Most of the repertoire is based on original compositions, exciting new arrangements of jazz standards, as well as personal takes on traditional styles of modern jazz ranging from the pre-swing era, through swing, be-bop and cool, to modal and beyond. The Czech-born American pianist, award-winning composer and arranger, educator, music engineer, producer and photographer Pavel Wlosok invites you to an evening of pure, improvised modern Jazz music, full of exciting musical colours, various rhythmic feels and grooves, and spontaneous collective improvisation.

Starting Saturday 5/13, Taco Billy will be serving food out of their new food truck directly behind Little Jumbo. They have vegan, gluten-free, and [whatever]-friendly dishes. Also, it’s illegal to have alcohol on the sidewalk, so please leave your drink on the table when going out to get your food. If you’d like to bring your drink to the bar, the bartender would be happy to keep an eye on it for you.
